Beaches

Fuerteventura is a dream destination for true beach lovers. The numerous beaches of the island stretch from the dark lava beaches to the Caribbean sandy beaches to the north. There is something for every beach type in Fuerteventura. Whether nature lovers, water sportsmen or families.

El Cotillo

Far from the hustle and bustle, you will find the port area of El Cotillo. This small charming beach in the north-west of Fuerteventura is known among surfers as paradise for surfcracks and high waves. 

Playa de los Muertos

Playa de los Muertos is the beach section of Ajuy on the west coast of Fuerteventura. The beach is easy to reach by car. The blue water of the Atlantic form a beautiful contrast to the fine, black sand beach, which is constantly haunted by torrential waves. 

Playa Barca

This beach is located close to the town of Costa Calma and is about four kilometers long wiht fine, white sand. In the case of floods, a lagoon is formed which falls only flat into the sea. A paradise for surfers and families with children. 

 

Playa de Corralejo

The beaches of Coralejo, sloping in the Atlantic, are a paradise for sunbathers and water sportsmen. They are one of the most beautiful beaches on the island and meet all requirements for long, relaxing walks and untroubled bathing pleasure with almost Caribbean flair. 

Playa de Gran Tarajal

The sandy beach of Gran Tarajal is located in a large protected bay in the southeast. It stretches over a length of approximately 560 meters and features black lava sand. With a width of uo to 55 meters, many bathers have the opportunity to choose a nice place. The beautifully designed beach promenade invites you to take a walk or visit one of the cozy restaurants. 

Playa Risco del Paso

Playa Risco del Paso is located on the peninsula of Jandia in the southeast of the island. It lies behind a dreamlike dune landscape, far from urban hustle and bustle. The beach offers lots of space for sunbathing and water ripples, which can be enjoyed in the initially shallow water. 

Playa de la Mujer

Tindaya is the place closest to some beautiful bays on the west coast, so the name " Tindaya Beaches"  gives the clue where these bays bind approximately.

Playa de Costa Calma

Playa de Costa Calma is guaranteed a great bathing fun and a wide range of active leisure activities. The beautiful bathing bay offers the bathers the finest, bright sand which slowly sinks into the sea. A paradise for the youngest, who can play here in the sand and splash in the shallow water. The Atlantic here is very quiet and is rarely to be expected with high waves.

Playa de Cofete

This beach is, due to the strong surf, rather suitable for long walks, with which one can let the impressive Atlantic atmosphere in peace.
